Altaf Raja wants to cast SRK, Salman or Aamir Khan in 'Tum To Thehre Pardesi' remix

The singer would cast Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir for song’s recreation.
Does the name Altaf Raja instantly make you hum ‘Tum To Thehre Pardesi’? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Such was the craze of the singer who created a storm in the 90s with his songs. He is now back, having voiced the anthem of ‘Splitsvilla 15’. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, Altaf Raja spoke about his stardom and how he still manages to strike a chord with the younger generation.
Sharing that he’s often requested to sing ‘Tum To Thehre Pardesi’ whenever he’s performing, Altaf Raja said that he’s amazed at how everyone still remembers the song. He added that it was the hard work he had put into that project that still resonates with his listeners.
During our interaction, we asked if he had the chance to recreate the song and cast a Bollywood superstar, who would it be? “Shah Rukh Khan, Salman bhai or even Aamir Khan. All three would look good in the song. Aamir bhai even used the song in PK, which was a big achievement for me. Even today, the song is used to create Instagram reels. It makes me proud of my work,” he replied with a smile.
Recently, there has been an influx of AI and other technologies which is said to pose a threat to creative people. However, Altaf Raja remains unfazed as he shared, “AI is good to create something visually. However, when it comes to songs and music, there’s only satisfaction when it’s real and original. You may believe that auto-tune and AI are working for you but you only sound good when there’s enough riyaaz. I still practice every day and work hard to keep my music authentic. Technology can help in mixing and creating though.”
On a final note, he spoke about the ‘Splitsvilla’ anthem, calling it an ‘honour’. He also shared that the song describes today’s generation’s take on love and relationships.
